Winterton Rangers 0  North Ferriby United 5
Scorers: Own goal, AN Other, SO Else, Curtis Bateson, Ryan Kendall

The Villagers ran out comfortable winners against Winterton Rangers. Ferriby took the lead after seven minutes. Steve Brogan’s corner was headed on by one of Ferriby’s triallists to a second triallist who headed home from close range.

Simon Russell drew two saves from the keeper before The Villagers doubled their lead after 18 minutes. Steve brogan found Ryan Fallowfield on the left and his low cross was turned in at the far post by one of the triallists.

Ferriby continued to pepper the Winterton goal and Curtis Bateson went close on three occasions and danny Clarke once.

The game was not all one way but rangers only managed one chance which saw Craig ellison make a fine one-handed save to push the ball on to the bar.

The Villagers’ third goal came after 42 minutes with Brogan again providing a telling pass for the triallist to link well and score.

Any hopes rangers may have had of a revival were dashed after 51 minutes when Bateson lashed a 22-yard shot in to the top corner.

The final goal came after 65 minutes when Ryan kendall rose at the far post to head home Sam Topliss’s pin-point cross.

This was a much better showing by Ferriby following Saturday’s defeat at Bridlington. Ferriby produced some smart and incisive passing and could have won by a bigger margin.

It was a good workout for The Villagers who had to defend well at times against a Winterton side that always looked to get forward.
