Selby Town v NFU (PSF)

Pre-season Friendly

Selby Town v North Ferriby United

Tuesday 15th  July, 7.45 pm

Ferriby continue their pre-season programme when they travel to Northern Counties East side Selby Town. This is second of seven fixtures as The Villagers prepare for their second season in the Conference North.

Ferriby gave a controlled and dominant performance in Saturday’s opening game at Lincoln United and manager Billy Heath will be looking for a similar performance at Selby.

Heath took the opportunity to give all his players a game on Saturday. It was a good performance in hot and humid conditions. The Ferriby players certainly looked fit and their commitment was very evident. They were too good both in terms of play and physical strength for Lincoln. The home side rarely threatened and The Villagers could have won by a bigger margin.

Heath commented, “It was a good performance. We worked the players hard in training on Thursday and today they all produced good performances in testing conditions.”

Heath will have been pleased to see how his new signings fitted-in to the squad. Adam Bolder and Tom Denton, in particular, had good games.  Ferriby’s defence looked solid and Heath will, no doubt, use the next few games to work on permutations of players ahead of the competitive season.

Jamie Yates will not play at Selby as he is continuing his recovery from the ankle injury he sustained at the end of last season. Yates said, “The ankle is healing well and I’m back in training but need another week or 10 days before playing.”

Liam King is also doubtful. New signing Tom Corner is unavailable due to holidays.

NFU’s probable squad : Adam Nicklin, Antoni Pecora, Dean Lisles, Josh Wilde, Nathan Peat, Gregg Anderson, Matt Wilson, Danny Hone, Mark Gray, Jon D’Laryea, Adam Bolder, Danny Emerton, Russell Fry,  Nathan Jarman, Tom Denton, Louis Bruce, Tim Taylor, Dan Clayton, Matt Kingston

Tickets for the Hull City fixture are priced at £12 adults and £6 concessions and are now on sale at North Ferriby post Office, North Ferriby United’s Sportsbar and the KC Stadium ticket office.
