North Ferriby United v Hall Road Rangers
The Chadwick Stadium
Thursday 12 July 2018
Kick-off 7.30 pm
Following the late cancellation of the game between the two clubs at Haworth Park on Tuesday, the teams will meet at The Chadwick Stadium on Thursday evening.
With Ferriby having no fixture on Saturday, it is hoped that a good crowd will turn-up on Thursday to encourage the players.
Despite the efforts of Hall Road’s volunteers and officials to make the pitch playable, there were too many holes and cracks and the surface was deemed too dangerous play on. The game was called-off some 30 minutes after the scheduled kick-off time to the disappointment of everybody present.
Ferriby manager Chris Bolder commented,
“Unfortunately the weather has caused cracks and holes on the pitch and they were proving hard to repair. At the end of the day we have to think of the safety of the players and the surface was too risky to play on. It’s frustrating for everybody.”
Bolder took his players back to The Chadwick Stadium to play a game between the two sides he had planned to play in each half of the scheduled game.
Commenting ahead of the game, Bolder said,
“Tonight gives us another opportunity to have a look at some players and further enhance our specific match fitness. Again we will be looking to play two teams and possibly experiment with a different playing system as we need to have options during the season.”
“By all accounts Hall Road conducted themselves very well against a strong Bridlington team, so will be another good test for us and have some good young players in their ranks.”
Bolder will almost certainly play two different elevens in each half. Bolder and his assistant Paul Robson obviously want to see as many players in action as possible as they continue to select a squad for the forthcoming Evostik Premier Division campaign. Equally, the players will want to show that they are deserving of a place in the squad.
The Chuck Wagon will be open for hot food and the usual drinks.. The bar will also be open.
