NFU v Tadcaster Albion (PSF)

Pre-season friendly

North Ferriby United v Tadcaster Albion
Saturday 11 August
Kick-off 3pm

Ferriby play their finalpre-season friendly when Evostik Division One East side Tadcaster Albion  visit The Chadwick Stadium.

Albion just missed out on a play-off spot last season so will be an interesting challenge for Ferriby

Ferriby manager Chris Bolder commented,

“Ossett pressed us hard in the first-half and we couldn’t really play in the way we had hoped. They made it difficult for us to move the ball around and play it out from the back.

“We had to change things round at half-time and alter our system. We started to take the game to them more and forced them back far more than in the first-half. Lewis’s penalty save was probably the turning-point in the game.

“We took a degree of control after that. Jamie’s free-kick was superbly hit to give us the lead. We created a few chances after that. The second goal from Alex clinched it.

“We defended well throughout the game. Perhaps we rode our luck on a couple of occasions but the players put in a great shift in testing conditions.”

Looking towards the Tadcaster game, Bolder had this to say,

“It will be an interesting game and a good work-out. Tadcaster did well last season. Missing-out on promotion will have hurt them. They have strengthened their squad and will be looking to do even better this year.

“For Paul and myself, the game is the last opportunity to see players in match action. We will give match-time to the players we have registered for the season as well as looking at one or two others.

“We now have to concentrate on our fitness and tactics for games. We will have a plan for Saturday. However, as last Saturday’s game against Ossett showed, you do have to be prepared to change your tactics if things don’t go as expected. That is something which the more experienced players must take the lead on  during the game. They have to guide the younger and less experienced players.”

Ferriby’s squad will be chosen from:

Johnny Saltmer, Lewis Exall, Ben Leyland, Jack Smith, Paul Robson, Alex Brittain, Jamie Forrester, Joe Lamplough, James Piercey, Jack Mail, Dan Nichols, Danny Norton, Charlie Dunkerley, Myles Lawman, Adam Bolder, Eddie Rogerson, James Nichols, Luke Lofts, Alex Bannister, Jordan Harrison, Ben Clappison. There may well one or two more additions.
