Vanarama National League North
NFU v Solihull Moors
Saturday 15 August Kick-off 3.00 pm
Ferriby will be looking to maintain the form they showed in beating Chorley on Tuesday when Solihull Moors visit the Eon Visual Media Stadium on Saturday.
It promises to be a tough game. The visitors have won both their games so far, scoring seven goals in the process, They are always difficult to beat and have a dangerous striker in Stefan Moore.
Last season’s games between the two sides were high-scoring affairs. Moors won 3-1 at The Eon Visual media Stadium whilst The Villagers returned the compliment with a 4-2 victory at Solihull.
Ferriby will be buoyant after Tuesday evening’s hammering of Chorley. The 4-0 win could have actually been more. The Villagers have created plenty of opportunities in their opening two games. At Tamworth they could not finish but on Tuesday the finishing was clinical. Man-of-the-match Curtis Bateson scored a hat-trick and tormented the Chorley defence throughout. Tom Denton’s powerful header finished the scoring in style as Ferriby hit three goals in a four minutes towards the end of the game.
The late scoring burst shows that the spirit and commitment that have long been associated with Ferriby is still there.
Manager Billy Heath commented,
“Solihull will provide a tough challenge on Saturday. They have started well with two wins and are obviously scoring goals.
“However, we are also playing well and our performance against Chorley was very good. We played well as a team and looked strong in every department. We are going to need that level of performance against Solihull.
It’s important that we gather some momentum even at this early stage of the season. Good results and performances breed confidence. They are important in what is going to be a difficult league to do well in this season.”
