North Ferriby United v Hednesford Town
Evostik Northern Premier League Premier Division
Saturday 1 December 2012 KO 3.00 pm
For the second week running league leaders Ferriby take-on the second-placed club. This week it is Hednesford Town who moved in to second place in midweek.
The fixture pits Ferriby's unbeaten home record against Hednesford's unbeaten away record so an interesting game is in prospect.
Ferriby manager Billy Heath will be looking to his players to extend their 16 game unbeaten league run. Heath commented, "The last few games in particular have been massive games for us. We've played teams in the chasing pack and put in some really good performances. To take all 12 points from November's game was amazing given the quality of the opponents and the fact that three games were away."
Ferriby have played themselves in to a strong position at the top of the table. Some of the chasing pack have games in hand but only Hednesford can catch Ferriby if they win their outstanding games. This gives an added edge to Saturday's fixture.
With still more than half the league fixtures to play, nobody is counting their chickens at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium. The Evostik Northern Premier League is a very challenging competition to win. It has always been a league where most teams are capable of beating each other and some of this season's results have already shown this.
The top five clubs are beginning to form a break-away group with seven points separating the fifth and sixth placed clubs.
Gary Bradshaw and Paul Foot should return to the squad against Hednesford following lengthy injuries. Steve Gardner's knee injury continues to keep him out and Steve Ridley has a one game suspension.
Ferriby squad: Adam Nicklin, Antoni Pecora, Paul Foot, Gregg Anderson, , Dean Lisles, Mark Gray, Nathan Peat, Liam King, Russell Fry, Danny Clarke, Chris Bolder, Ryan Williams, Jack Muldoon, Anthony Wilson Ryan Kendall, Gary Bradshaw, Ben Hunter
