Evostik Northern Premier League Premier Division
North Ferriby United v Ashton United
Manager Billy Heath and his Assistant manager Bobby Carroll take charge of their first home game for the Villagers when they entertain Ashton United on Tuesday.
Saturday's defeat at second-placed Northwich Victoria was harsh on Ferriby who outplayed the home side in the second-half.
Heath commented, "I was obviously disappointed with the result but I was pleased with the response from the players. We've only had two training sessions together before the match but the players' attitude has been good all week.
"We started slowly against Northwich but grew in to the game. The turning point came when we had a shot cleared off the line and they went to the other end and scored with a goal out of nothing..
"I'm looking forward to Tuesday's match against Ashton and a similar response from the team."
Ferriby were hit on Saturday by the late withdrawal of Sam Denton due to food poisoning. Club captain Paul Foot returned to the centre of defence following injury and played for the whle 90 minutes. Peter Davidson's return to the Club saw him put-in a goof performance in midfield.
Ferriby's defeat saw them slip in to the bottom four but in a division where it seems virtually anybody can beat anybody else, it will only took a couple of victories to see The Villagers climb the table. Ashton go into Tuesday's match on the back of a a 5-1 home defeat to Stafford Rangers on Saturday.
Heath will have two additions to his squad against Ashton. Alex Davidson has returned to the club from Guiseley and Danny Clarke has been signed from Hall Road Rangers
Chris Bolder and Ben Morley are still unavailable through long-term injuries.
Possible Ferriby Squad: Steve Wilson, James Williams, Nathan Peat, Kevin Larvin, Paul Foot, Greg Wright, Sam Denton, Peter Davidson, Gary Bradshaw, Paul Harsley, Russell Fry, John Leonard, Mathew Stirland, Alex Davidson, Danny Clarke, Tom Clarke, Rob Moy, Luke Thompson
