North Ferriby United 3    Hednesford Town 0
Scorers: NFU: Jamie Yates 1; Anthony Wilson 45, 90
Ferriby stunned Hednesford with a first minute goal. Paul Robson’s throw-in eventually reach Jamie Yates on the corner of the area and he curled his shot inside the far post.

The first half was fairly end-to-end with Hednesford having slightly more possession. However, chances were few at each end.

Ferriby’s early pressure nearly brought two further goals with Town keeper Dan Crane punching off his line under pressure then saving Danny Hone’s low shot.

Ferriby keeper Adam Nicklin was alert enough to beat Neil Harvey to a through-ball. Nicklin then made two fine saves from long-range shots from Kris Taylor.

Ferriby doubled their lead on the stroke of half-time. Yates’ cross found Wilson who controlled the ball before beating a defender to slide the ball past Crane.

The second-half was a more subdued affair  with Ferriby’s defence and midfield largely controlling the game.

Crane made a superb diving save in the 46th minute to deny Nathan Jarman.

Harvey’s shot straight to Nicklin midway through the half was Hednesford’s only effort on-target.

Ferriby closed-out the game. The final goal came in the 90th minute. The Hednesford defence was ripped apart by Paul Robson, Liam King and  Dean Lisles whose final pass left Wilson to score in an open goal
