Hyde FC v NFU (FAT 1)

Hyde FC v North Ferriby United
FA Trophy First Round

Saturday 30 November
Kick-off 3.00 pm

North Ferriby are back in FA Trophy action on Saturday when they travel to Hyde FC. Hyde are facing almost certain relegation from the Skrill Premier Division. They are rock-bottom at the moment with only three points from their 21 league games. They have the worst defensive record in the division having conceded 55 goals.

However, as the higher status side and playing at home, Hyde will start as favourites. The game will provide an interesting test of Ferriby’s on-field progress. The Villagers are third in the Skrill North. They are one of four teams with 32 points at the top of the table. The Villagers will not lack confidence going in to the game.

Progress in the Trophy will be a welcome boost to the club’s profile and finances.

Ferriby reached the third round of the East Riding Senior Cup with a comfortable 2-0 win over Hall Road Rangers on Tuesday. Manager Billy Heath played a much-changed team in this game as he took the chance to give pitch-time to squad players who have limited chances to play.

Looking to the Hyde game, Heath commented, “It is another opportunity for us to test ourselves against a Premier division side. I know Hyde are struggling but the Trophy is probably their one hope of salvaging something from their season so they should really be up for the game. We are approaching our best form again. We were outstanding at Stockport last Saturday and we will need a similar performance at Hyde.”

Heath should have a full squad to choose from apart from Dean Lisles  and Mark Gray who are both injured andMatt Wilson is suspended following his dismissal against Stourbridge in the last round.

NFU from: Adam Nicklin, Antoni Pecora, Paul Robson, Nathan Peat, Gregg Anderson, Danny Hone, Jonathan D’Laryea, Liam King, Russell Fry, Danny Clarke, Anthony Wilson, Nathan Jarman, Ben Hunter, Jamie Yates, Ryan Kendall, Louis Bruce

If a replay is needed it will be at Ferriby on Tuesday 3rd December with a 7.45 kick-off. Passes will not be valid for this game and normal admission prices will apply.
