Goole AFC v NFU

Match Preview

Saturday 23 July 3.00pm

Goole AFC v North Ferriby United

North Ferriby United travel to EvoStik League Division side Goole Town on Saturday. Goole will provide a stern test for Ferriby in what is another derby match.

Manager John Anderson will be looking for his players to continue playing the quality of football that was evident in Tuesday's defeat against Hull City.

After the match Anderson commented that he was pleased with the way his team had played against a Championship team. "The players will have learned a lot from the game ", he added.

Whilst Anderson will be hoping his team can pick-up a win at Goole, he firmly believes that it is the steady improvement in match fitness and developing the style of football that is more important than results in pre-season matches.

Ferriby's positive football has won them many friends over the years and in the two pre-season games so far The Villagers have continued to play this way. The quality of some of Ferriby's football against City surprised many of the Tigers' fans in the crowd. It is to be hoped that some of them will watch The Villagers when they cannot attend a City fixture.

Possible Ferriby Squad: Steve Wilson, Ben Morley, James Williams, Kevin Larvin, Paul Foot, Nathan Peat, Mark Greaves, Chris Bolder, Russell Fry, Gary Bradshaw, Wayne Brooksby, John Leonard, Danny Buttle, Sam Belcher, Craig Stoddart, Dimitar Kushiev, Mathew Stirland, Jonathan Creek, Ray Ford
