Frickley Athletic v NFU (PSF)

Pre-season friendly
Frickley Athletic v NFU

Saturday 1 August Kick-off 3.00 pm

FA Trophy holders North Ferriby play their final pre-season fixture when they visit Evostik Premier Division side Frickley Athletic. For Ferriby’s management duo of Billy heath and Mark carroll it is a return to a club that they previously managed.

The Villagers have put in some good performances in the six games so far but pre-season games are totally different to the competitiveness that the start of the league season will bring.

These games are more about player performance, sorting out possible playing formations and developing tactics ahead of the new season.

Ferriby played well to beat a Leeds United XI in midweek. It was a pleasing result for Heath who commented,
“We did well to come back from a goal down at half-time. That is the sort of spirit we are going to have to display this season.

“It will be  another tough game at Frickley. They struggled last season but Mark and I know from our time at the club that it is always a difficult place for a visiting to get a result.

mark and I will sit down next week to finalise our starting squad for the opening league game at Tamworth. It won’t be an easy choice as we have competition in all positions.”

NFU squad: Adam Nicklin, Tom Nicholson, Josh Wilde, Ash Palmer, Louis Bruce, Danny Hone, Mark Gray, Liam King, Russ Fry, Adam Bolder, Danny Clarke, Danny Emerton, Tim Taylor, Curtis Bateson, Tom Davie, Nathan Hotte, Ryan Kendall, Tom Denton, Jamie Forrester,  Lewis Clarkson, Ben Middleton, Ross Armstrong
