Frickley Ath v NFU (PSF)

Pre-season Friendly
Frickley Athletic  v North Ferriby United

Saturday 2nd August 2014; KO 3.00pm

Ferriby play their final pre-season game when they travel to Evostik Premier side Frickley Athletic on Saturday.

Ferriby manager Billy Heath will be expecting a much better performance from his players than the one they gave at Goole on Tuesday. Ferriby were very disjointed and lacked cohesion as they went down to a 2-1 defeat. The Villagers could have no complaints at the result but there will be much soul-searching at the manner of the defeat.

The side as a whole made far too many mistakes, two of which led to Goole’s goals. Many of the errors were unforced as Ferriby struggled to get their game going. Nathan Jarman’s late goal from a free-kick was too little too late.

Frickley will provide a stern test for Ferriby on Saturday. They are never an easy side to beat on their own ground. Past experience indicates it could be quite a physical game.

Tuesday’s result apart, Ferriby’s pre-season has gone well. Good results breed confidence but it is performances that matter more as players build their match fitness and develop new systems, tactics and partnerships.

Heath should have his full squad available on Saturday.

NFU’s probable squad : Adam Nicklin, Antoni Pecora, Dean Lisles, Josh Wilde, Nathan Peat, Gregg Anderson, Matt Wilson, Danny Hone, Mark Gray, Liam King, Jon D’Laryea, Adam Bolder, Danny Emerton, Russell Fry,  Nathan Jarman, Tom Denton, Tom Corner, Jamie Yates, Louis Bruce, Tim Taylor, Dan Clayton, Matty Kingston
