Buxton v NFU (Evo Prem)

Saturday 3 December 3.00 pm

Evostik Northern Premier League Premier Division
Buxton v North Ferriby United

Ferriby return to league action at Buxton on Saturday. Buxton are currently in the relegation spots and recently parted company with manager John Reed. Ferriby's league form has improved since Billy Heath and Bobby Carroll arrived and they will be looking to keep this going as the side heads for mid-table safety.

Ferriby put in two excellent performances against Blue Square Bet Conference North side Corby Town in the FA Trophy. Tuesday's 3-2 win at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium earned The Villagers a First Round tie at home to Chester FC on 10 December.

After Tuesday's win Heath said, "I'm obviously pleased with the result and felt we deserved to win over the two games. Perhaps what pleased me most was the players' reaction after Corby equalised near the end. Very often players' heads go down in those situations but the team reacted very positively and went looking for the winner. "

Tuesday's match was entertaining and Ferriby deserved their win. They surrendered a two goal lead but Russell Fry's 87th minute winner was just reward for the team's attitude and performance.

Ferriby have not actually lost a match in open play to a Conference North side in the last three seasons.

Matty Plummer and John Leonard have both left the club. Danny Clarke and Adam Nicklin may both be fit to return to the squad following injuries.

Probable Ferriby Squad: Steve Wilson, Adam Nicklin, James Williams, Ben Morley, Kevin Larvin,  Nathan Peat, Paul Foot, Sam Denton, Chris Bolder, Peter Davidson, Paul Harsley, Russell Fry, Gary Bradshaw, Alex Davidson, Danny Clarke, Luke Thompson, Wayne Brooksby, Sam Belcher
