FA TROPHY HOLDERS 2015 & NATIONAL LEAGUE NORTH PLAY-OFF CHAMPIONS 2016

Worcester City v NFU (VCN)

Vanarama Conference North
Worcester City v North Ferriby United
Game being played at Kidderminster Harriers FC

Saturday 30th August 2014; KO 3.00pm

Ferriby will be looking to maintain their unbeaten start to the season when they travel to Kidderminster to play Worcester City on Saturday. The Villagers have won four and drawn one of their opening games and sit top of the Vanarama Conference North.

Ferriby have been notoriously slow starters over the years when it comes to league games. The club has to go back 20 years to the start of the 1994-95 season for the last time The Villagers were unbeaten in their first five games, winning three and drawing two. The 1991-92 season saw them open with a similar record to this season.

Manager Billy Heath commented, “It is obviously a great start to the season but we are not, and will not, get carried away. This is a very tough league with no easy games. The season has a long way to go but we will have given ourselves a good launch platform for the rest of the season.”

Worcester have drawn four and lost one of their opening five fixtures.  Goals have been in short supply in their games with Worcester scoring only three and conceding four. It will need a patient approach from Ferriby on Saturday if they are to come away with something from the game.

Worcester ground-share with Kidderminster Harriers where Saturday’s game will be played.

Heath should have a virtually full squad to select from. Adam Bolder starts a three game suspension and the only injury doubt is Danny Emerton who is rated as fifty-fifty to play. Jamie Yates and Dan Clayton will return to the squad following minor injuries.

NFU’s probable squad : Adam Nicklin, Antoni Pecora, Josh Wilde, Nathan Peat, Danny Hone, Matt Wilson, Gregg Anderson, Mark Gray, Liam King, Dan Clayton, Jon D’Laryea, Danny Emerton, Russell Fry,  Nathan Jarman, Tom Denton, Tom Corner, Jamie Yates
