Vauxhall Motors v North Ferriby United
Tuesday 8 October
Kick-off 7.45 pm
North Ferriby United repeat most of Saturday’s journey to Colwyn Bay when they travel to Ellesmere Port to play Vauxhall Motors on Tuesday.
Ferriby are currently fourth in the Skrill North table. Vauxhall are in 10th position with four wins and two draws. Goals in their games have been in short supply with them scoring just 11 and conceding 12.
The Villagers will be looking to make it three successive away wins in ten days after winning at Buxton and Colwyn Bay in their last two games. Saturday’s win at Colwyn Bay was a commanding performance by The Villagers. Anthony Wilson’s hat-trick stole the headlines but the win was a fine all-round team performance with Ferriby gaining a well-deserved win.
Manager Billy Heath will be looking for another good performance and will be expecting his side to return home with at least a point. Equally importantly, he will hope his players pick-up no injuries ahead of Saturday’s home FA cup-tie against Runcorn Linnets.
Heath was delighted after Saturday’s victory, “It was a great performance today. It was a long trip and that always makes games a little more difficult. We played some really good football in the first 20 minutes and were excellent in the second-half. We played well in all departments of the team and we certainly deserved to win.”
Danny Hone is still recovering from an ankle ligament injury and there are injury doubts over defender Paul Robson, thigh, and striker Ryan Kendall, back spasm, who missed Saturday’s game at Colwyn Bay. Central defender Mark Gray will be in the squad afterre-joined the club following a short spell at Frickley Athletic.
