Stourbridge v North Ferriby United
FA Trophy 3rd Qualifying Round
Saturday 16 November
Kick-off 3.00 pm
North Ferriby United are back on the Wembley trail when they travel to Calor League Premier side Stourbridge on Saturday for a FA Trophy 3rd Qualifying Round game.
This will be the first meeting between the two clubs and it is going to be a tough game for Ferriby. Stourbridge’s defeat on Wednesday ended a run of 11 straight wins. Seven of those have been in Cup Competitions.
Ferriby will start as favourites as they are the higher ranked club but The Glassboys will not be in awe of The Villagers. Stourbridge have already beaten a Conference North side this season, winning 3-1 at Workington in the Fourth qualifying Round.
Ferriby’s recent results have been disappointing but they have been playing some good football and creating goal-scoring chances.
There is a quiet confidence in the Ferriby camp. The FA Trophy provides a realistic chance to play in a Wembley final. The competition tends to be dominated by Conference Premier sides but Ferriby have the ability to put together a good run in this competition.
There was disappointment at the club with last week’s draw against barrow who played most of the game with 10 men. However, it needed an outstanding performance from visiting keeper Tony McMillan to deny Ferriby a win.
Speaking after the Barrow game, Ferriby Manager Billy Heath commented, ”We had more than enough chances to win the game and paid the price for not taking them. The way in which we conceded the two goals was disappointing. We really should have been able to win the game with only three minutes against 10 men.”
Heath should have a full squad to choose from apart from Dean Lisles (ankle injury) and. Mark Gray (groin).
NFU from: Adam Nicklin, Antoni Pecora, Paul Robson, Nathan Peat, Danny Hone, Gregg Anderson, Matt Wilson, Jonathan D’Laryea, Liam King, Russell Fry, Danny Clarke, Ben Hunter, Jamie Yates, Ryan Kendall, Anthony Wilson, Nathan Jarman, Sam Belcher
If a replay is needed it will take place at the Eon Visual Media on Tuesday 19 November with a 7.45 kick-off. Passes will not be valid and usual admission prices will apply.
