Stafford Rangers v North Ferriby United
Evostik Northern Premier League Premier Division
Saturday 20th October 2012 KO 3.00 pm
Table-topping North Ferriby United travel to mid-table Stafford Rangers on Saturday looking to further consolidate their five point advantage at the top of the Evostik Northern Premier League.
Ferriby go in to the game on the back of four straight league wins against a side which has drawn six of its 11 games.
The Villagers gave a Jekyll & Hyde performance in beating Grantham Town in midweek. A poor first half saw Ferriby go 2-0 down but they stormed back in the second-half to win 3-2.
Manager Billy Heath was obviously disappointed with the first-half display but could not fault his side's determination and spirit in the second-half.
The Evostik Premier Division is a highly competitive division with all sides seemingly capable of beating each other. IF Ferriby can maintain their current run of form they could really consolidate their lead.
There is a feeling at the Club that the best is still to come from the team. The side is playing attractive football but lacks consistency at times. They are second highest scorers in the division and have the meanest defence with only 10 league goals conceded.
Stafford will prove a challenge on their own Marston Road pitch but on current form nobody will be betting against Ferriby coming away with at least a point.
Striker Gary Bradshaw is suspended for this game but probably would not have played as he received a neck injury against Grantham. Skipper Paul Foot is also unavailable due to injury.
Ferriby squad: Adam Nicklin, Antoni Pecora, Steve Gardner, Dean Lisles, Nathan Peat, Gregg Anderson, Russell Fry, Danny Clarke, Mark Gray, Jack Muldoon, Liam King, Ryan Kendall, Chris Bolder, Ben Hunter, Ryan Williams, Steve Ridley
