Solihull Moors v North Ferriby United
The Skrill North
Saturday 14 September
Ferriby make their first ever visit to Solihull Moors on Saturday. Solihull are in sixth place in the Skrill North table just one point behind The Villagers.
Solihull are unbeaten at the moment with three wins and three draws in their six games. They have scored 10 goals and conceded five so a tight game is in prospect.
Ferriby’s start to the season has seen them play four of the other teams currently in the top seven. Saturday’ game at Solihull and next Saturday’s at home to current leaders Altrincham will see them complete the set. It has certainly been a tough start for Ferriby but the side has shown tremendous skill, ability and determination to make their mark in their first season at this level.
Last Saturday’s victory over then leaders Hednesford Town was an excellent all-round team performance. The final goal was a brilliant four-man move that pulled the Hedensford defence to pieces. Manager Billy Heath was delighted. He commented after the game, “it was a superb all-round performance. We dominated from start to finish against a very good team.”
It really was not Hednesford’s day last Saturday. They had to make two team changes from the announced team following minor injuries in the warm-up and had to play in Ferriby’s away shirts as they turned-up with the wrong shirts. This led to some ironic humour in the clubhouse after the game with the Hednesford fans chanting, “We’re not fit to wear your shirts!”
Heath will be looking for a similar performance at Solihull as The Villagers look to maintain a good start to the season
Striker Anthony Wilson is suspended but, otherwise, Heath should have a full squad to chooses from.
