Sheffield FC v North Ferriby United
Doodson Sport League Challenge Cup 3rd Round
Wednesday 30 January 2013 KO 7.45 pm
Ferriby begin their defence of the Doodson Sport League Cup on Wednesday when they travel to Division One South side Sheffield FC. The game has been postponed three times due to snow and a eaterlogged pitch but the improved weather will, hopefully, see the game take place.
The winners travel to Blyth Spartans on 12 February for a Fourth Round tie.
Sheffield beat Brigg Town 5-3 after extra time to win their second round tie. The South Yorkshire were second best for most of the game but took control in the second-half of extra time to gain a rather flattering win.
Ferriby will be hoping to become only the third club to retain the League Cup. Promotion remains the priority for the club but manager Billy Heath will be expecting his team to develop a winning mentality when it comes to trophies.
Ferriby will not face striker Jack Muldoon who recently joined Sheffield from Ferriby on loan to the end of the season. The clubs have agreed that he will not play in this game.
With the recent series of postponements Manager Billy Heath will almost certainly play a full-strength squad to give his players match practice. Goalkeeper Adam Nicklin is suspended which will give Antony Pecora a chance to start. New signings Oliver Banks from Scarborough Athletic, and Jason Stokes from Boston United will be in the squad.
Possible Ferriby squad: Antoni Pecora, Steve Ridley, Gregg Anderson, Paul Foot, Mark Gray, Nathan Peat, Liam King, Russell Fry, Danny Clarke, Chris Bolder, Ryan Williams, Anthony Wilson, Ryan Kendall, Gary Bradshaw, Rob Moy, Tim Taylor, Oliver Banks, Jason Stokes
