Ferriby take a break from National League North action on Saturday when they begin their FA Trophy campaign.

Following the dismissal of management duo Steve Housham and Darryn Stamp on Thursday evening, new club owner and former player, Jamie Waltham, will take charge of the team

The Villagers travel to league rivals Nuneaton Town for what could be the first of three games in eight days between the two teams. There is a potential replay on Tuesday and Nuneaton travel to Ferriby on 2 December for a league fixture.

The players will be keen to impress Waltham as he begins to take stock of the on-field situation at the club.

Nuneaton are20th in the National League North some 10 points ahead of Ferriby but still in the relegation zone. Housham’s team will travel with some hope given the league positions of both teams.

Ferriby go in to the game on the back of two 0-4 away defeats. The scoreline at Salford was harsh but there were absolutely no complaints about the score at Kidderminster on Tuesday. Ferriby were torn apart in the first-half and were never in contention. The players performed much better in the second-half and re-gained some pride.

That pride is what they are going to have to show at Nuneaton if they are too impress Waltham. He is a former Ferriby players and made88 appearances for the club over six seasons. The coming weeks will give everybody an idea of how he sees the future of the club.


Waltham will be without Danny Emerton due to a long-term injury. Darnelle-Bailey-King is unavailable.

If the tie requires a replay, it will be at The Eon Visual Media Stadium on Tuesday. Normal admission prices will apply. As per FA rules, season passes will not be valid for this game.
