North Ferriby United v Solihull Moors
Saturday 7 December
Kick-off 3.00 pm
North Ferriby return to League action on Saturday when they entertain top placed Solihull Moors in the Skrill North. Moors have lost two and drawn six of their 17 league games so far and have proved a difficult side for opposing teams to break down.
Only two points separate the top seven clubs who are threatening to break away from the rest. However, that could all change over the coming month. Saturday’s game is the first of seven league games for Ferriby between now and the January 4th.In addition, Ferriby play Woking at the Eon Visual Media Stadium in the FA Trophy a week on Saturday.
The Villagers will be looking for all three points against Solihull. The visitors won the reverse fixture 2-0 in a game that Ferriby could well have won.
Ferriby are getting back to something like their best form and the two recent away wins at Stockport and Hyde were both outstanding team performances. The Villagers are strong in defence, have a midfield that is creative but which also has the ability to close-down the opposition, and the strikers are probably the best in the division.
Ferriby manager Billy Heath was happy with the result at Hyde, “They put us under a lot of pressure in the second-half but we defended superbly. Sometimes, especially away from home you have to put in a performance that is not always pretty. We did that today, got the result and that is what matters.
“Solihull will be a different type of challenge. They have proved a difficult side to beat this season. We may well have to be patient and take our opportunities when they come.”
Heath should have a full squad to choose from apart from Dean Lisles and Mark Gray who are both injured. Matt Wilson returns to the squad following his one match suspension.
NFU from: Adam Nicklin, Antoni Pecora, Paul Robson, Nathan Peat, Gregg Anderson, Danny Hone, Matt Wilson, Jonathan D’Laryea, Liam King, Russell Fry, Danny Clarke, Anthony Wilson, Nathan Jarman, Ben Hunter, Jamie Yates, Ryan Kendall, Louis Bruce
Ferriby are at home to Leamington in a re-arranged League match on Tuesday.
