North Ferriby United v Kendal Town
Evostik Northern Premier League Premier Division
Saturday 5 January 2013 KO 3.00 pm
Ferriby will be looking for three points to consolidate their position at the top of the League when Kendal town visit the Rapid solicitors Stadium on Saturday. The Villagers will be looking to maintain their Christmas form which saw them win all three games.
Kendal recently lost many of their players and their management team due to budget cuts and are now fielding a relatively young and inexperienced team. The team is currently third from bottom of the Division and will be hoping that they can pick-up points from their games in hand to pull away from the bottom two. Only two clubs are due to be relegated this season because the Premier Division is scheduled to expand to 24 teams next season.
Ferriby manager Billy Heath was delighted with Ferriby's Christmas form which saw his side increase their lead over second-placed Hednesford Town to seven points. The next three games are all against sides in the bottom six and Heath will be expecting his players to remain focussed and show their professionalism if they are to consolidate their lead.
The New Year's Day win over Blyth was more comfortable that the 3-2 score-line suggests. The Villagers controlled most of the game and could have won by a larger margin but for some good goalkeeping by Conor Grant and a number of goal-line clearances.
Heath should have a full squad to choose from.
Ferriby squad: Adam Nicklin, Antoni Pecora, Steve Gardner, Steve Ridley, Gregg Anderson, Paul Foot, Dean Lisles, Mark Gray, Nathan Peat, Liam King, Russell Fry, Danny Clarke, Chris Bolder, Ryan Williams, Anthony Wilson, Ryan Kendall, Gary Bradshaw
Ben Hunter has left the Club.
Ferriby will learn their Doodson Sport League Cup opponents next Tuesday when Brigg Town play Sheffield. Ferriby travel to the winners on Tuesday15 January.
The postponed league game against AFC Fylde has been re-arranged for Saturday 23 February.
