FA TROPHY HOLDERS 2015 & NATIONAL LEAGUE NORTH PLAY-OFF CHAMPIONS 2016

NFU v Hessle Rangers (ERSC 3)

North Ferriby United  v Hessle Rangers
East Riding Senior Cup Third Round
Tuesday February 2013  KO 7.45 pm

Ferriby start their East Riding Senior Cup campaign with a home tie against Humberside Premier League side Hessle Rangers. The two sides met last season and Rangers pulled-off a shock 2-1 win in a game that Ferriby totally dominated.

Ferriby manager Billy Heath will be hoping for a totally different result this time. Promotion to the Blue Square Bet Conference North is his main priority this season but he stills see the value of the Senior Cup. "The Senior Cup provides an opportunity to play in a Cup Final at the KC Stadium at the end of the season. It is a tremendous incentive to the players."

Heath was pleased with his side's performance against Grantham Town on Saturday. It was his team's first game since January 5th and it is always difficult to predict how players will perform after such a break.

Ferriby controlled most of the game against Grantham and the winning margin would have been greater but for some good goalkeeping from James Martin and also some desperate defending. The result saw them maintain their four point lead at the top of the Evostik Premier Division.

Heath commented, "I was particularly pleased with the way the players responded in the second-half. We created a lot of chances and played a lot of good football."

The Senior Cup is often used as an opportunity to give some of the Reserve players some First team experience but the recent run of postponements will not see this happen for this game. Heath will use Saturday's squad, plus Adam Nicklin, on Tuesday but may well alter his starting line-up to give the players some much-needed pitch time.

Possible Ferriby squad: Antoni Pecora, Adam Nicklin, Steve Ridley, Steve Gardner, Gregg Anderson, Paul Foot, Mark Gray, Nathan Peat, Liam King, Russell Fry, Danny Clarke, Chris Bolder, Ryan Williams, Anthony Wilson, Ryan Kendall, Gary Bradshaw, Oliver Banks,

The game kicks-off at 7.30. Admission prices are £2 for adults and £1 for children and concessions
