FA TROPHY HOLDERS 2015 & NATIONAL LEAGUE NORTH PLAY-OFF CHAMPIONS 2016

NFU v Gainsborough Trinity (SN)

North Ferriby United v Gainsborough Trinity
Skrill North

Wednesday 1 January
Kick-off 3.00 pm

Ferriby will be looking for back-to back wins when  Gainsborough visit the Eon Visual Media Stadium on New Year’s Day. The reverse fixture at Gainsborough on Boxing day was abandoned after 62 minutes due to a floodlight failure. The first-half was a fairly even affair but The Villagers were on top when the game was stopped.

The Villagers’ are back up to fourth in the Skrill North following Saturday’s win over Bradford Park Avenue. It was a hard-earned win against a determined and spirited Bradford side.

Ferriby gave a patient and skilful display and second-half goals from Danny Hone and Anthony Wilson gave Ferriby a deserved win in a game  that they controlled virtually from start to finish.

Ferriby manager was delighted with the result, “It was a difficult game that we dominated. The players kept their patience and belief and we certainly deserved to win.”

The situation at the top of the Skrill North remains tight with four points covering the top six teams. Saturday’s results went largely in Ferriby’s favour with most of their rivals dropping points. The second-half of the season is going to be a testing time for all the promotion hopefuls.

Apart from Matt Wilson and Mark Gray who are recovering from groin injuries, Heath should have a full squad to choose from Nathan Peat returns following a one match suspension.

NFU from: Adam Nicklin, Antoni Pecora, Paul Robson, Gregg Anderson, Danny Hone, Matt Wilson, Jonathan D’Laryea, Liam King, Russell Fry, Danny Clarke, Anthony Wilson, Nathan Jarman, Ben Hunter, Jamie Yates, Ryan Kendall
