FA TROPHY HOLDERS 2015 & NATIONAL LEAGUE NORTH PLAY-OFF CHAMPIONS 2016

NFU v FC United of Manchester

Saturday 14th January 3.00pm

North Ferriby United v FC United of Manchester

Ferriby are expecting their largest gate of the season when FC United of Manchester visit the Rapid Solicitors Stadium on Saturday.

FC United are currently seventh in the table and will provide a stiff challenge to Billy Heath's team. Striker Michael Norton will be a major threat to Ferriby.

Heath will be looking to his players to continue their push up the table. Good results in the three remaining games this month will see The Villagers close to Heath's first target of 46 points. Once that target is reached the team can then push-on to achieve as high a league finish as possible.

Heath, and Assistant Manager Bobby Carroll, are pleased with way the players have responded since they took over the managerial reins. At that time, the players were lacking in confidence and demoralised due to a poor run of results. That has all changed in the last few months and Ferriby are once again proving that they are one of the best footballing sides in the league.

Heath was happy with the way his players responded to last Saturday's below-par performance at Chorley with a much better winning display against Worksop on Tuesday. This victory saw Ferriby through to the last eight of the Doodson Sport League Challenge Cup.

The Worksop match saw debuts for goalkeeper Rob Moy and midfielder Timothy Taylor. The Villagers thoroughly deserved their 4-2  win. Alex Davidson, Gary Bradshaw and Nathan Peat added three excellent goals to Paul Harsley's penalty.

Sam Denton is doubtful after needing stitches to a deep lesion following a clash with the Worksop goalkeeper. Russell Fry should return after suffering concussion at chorley last Saturday. Paul Foot, hopefully, will also be fit. It is expected that Gregg Anderson and Steve Wilson will also be back in the squad. Ben Morley and Adam Nicklin are still unavailable due to long-term injuries.

Probable Ferriby Squad: Steve Wilson, Rob Moy, Dominic Riordan, Nathan Peat, Anthony Lloyd, James Bennett, James Williams, Kevin Larvin,  Gregg Anderson, Alex Davidson, Chris Bolder, Paul Harsley, Wayne Brooksby, Gary Bradshaw, Timothy Taylor, Danny Clarke, Sam Belcher, Danny Clarke
