FA TROPHY HOLDERS 2015 & NATIONAL LEAGUE NORTH PLAY-OFF CHAMPIONS 2016

NFU v Colwyn Bay (SN)

North Ferriby United v Colwyn Bay
Skrill North

Saturday 21 December
Kick-off 3.00 pm

North Ferriby are back in Skrill North action on Saturday when Colwyn Bay visit the Eon Visual Stadium. Ferriby will be looking to complete their first double of the season having already won 3-0 at Colwyn earlier in the season.

The Villagers lost top-spot in the Skrill North on Tuesday when Hednesford leap-frogged them by winning their game in hand. Ferriby are unbeaten in 10 games with seven wins and three draws and have scored 24 goals. Colwyn are comfortably placed in mid-table but will still provide a stern test for Ferriby.

The situation at the top of the Skrill North is tight with six points covering the top eight teams. With each team having five games in the next fortnight there could be a big shake-up. The festive period usually throws up some surprise results and that is certain over in the Skrill North which is an extremely competitive league. A series of good result will provide a launch-pad for  a promotion challenge.

The next fortnight will be a test of Ferriby’s resources as they have a relatively small squad. What will not be in doubt will be their ability and team spirit. The players are a strong group who play for each other and they really do perform as a team.

Their FA Trophy win over Woking last Saturday was a superb team performance. Their higher level opponents were outplayed and well-beaten by the end of the game. Ferriby gave a master-class in finishing and thoroughly deserved their 4-0 win.

Manager Billy Heath was highly delighted with his side’s performance, “We played superbly. Once again, it was a great team performance against a team from the division above.”

Heath should have a full squad to choose from apart from Dean Lisles  and Mark Gray who are both injured but both will hopefully be fit over the festive period.   The club is hoping to complete the signing of Dan Clayton from Gainsborough in time for him to be included Saturday’s squad.
