FA Trophy First Round Proper
North Ferriby United v Chester FC
Ferriby continue their FA Trophy quest on Saturday against Evostik Northern Premier League Premier Division rivals Chester FC. It will be big-spending Chester's first visit to the Rapid Solicitor's Stadium.
Chester are currently top of the division but Ferriby will feel that they have a point to make after losing 6-0 at Chester earlier in the season. Ferriby now seem to be a completely different side to the one that played that day. New management duo Billy Heath and Bobby carroll have got the team playing with style and confidence and it is now approaching its best form.
This is the first time that Ferriby have reached the First round proper of the Trophy since the competition was re-organised a few years ago. The Trophy provides the opportunity to increase Ferriby's profile and offers the possibility of gaining some financial success.
Ferriby Manager Billy Heath was pleased with last Saturday's win at Buxton. "I was particularly pleased with our second-half performance. We equalised very quickly and dominated the rest of the game. We need to be able to perform like that for a whole match." Heath is under no illusion of the threat posed by Chester but he will take confidence from the way Ferriby played against Blue Square Bet North Corby Town in the last round.
In anticipation of a large crowd, car parking will be available at North Ferriby Primary School with the proceeds going to the school's own funds.
As this is an FA competition everyboby must pay. Prices are Adult £9, OAP £5 and £3 for under-16s.
New signing Anthony Lloyd who made his debut at Buxton last Saturday is cup-tied and Nathan Peat is suspended until the new year. Other than these two, Heath should have a full squad to choose from.
Probable Ferriby Squad: Steve Wilson, Adam Nicklin, James Williams, Kevin Larvin, Ben Morley, Paul Foot, Sam Denton, Chris Bolder, Peter Davidson, Paul Harsley, Russell Fry, Gary Bradshaw, Alex Davidson, Danny Clarke, Luke Thompson, Wayne Brooksby, Sam Belcher,
