North Ferriby United v Barrow
Saturday 9 November
Kick-off 3.00 pm
North Ferriby United entertain Barrow at the Eon Visual Media Stadium on Saturday. The visitors parted company with manager Dave Bayliss on Tuesday and player-coach Alex Meakin has taken the role as Interim Manager
Barrow are struggling at the moment and are in 18th place in the Skrill North. They have won two and drawn four of their 13 game so far. Goals have been in short supply in their games with Barrow scoring 13 and conceding 20.
However, Ferriby will be wary of Barrow. A change of manager often sees a change in attitude and performance, if only for a brief while. The Villagers are well aware that there are no easy games in the Skrill North. They were beaten by struggling Guiseley in their last home league game and were made to work hard for last Saturday’s win at Worcester City, another side currently in the bottom six.
This will be the first league meeting between the two clubs. Ferriby won 2-1 in an FA Cup First Qualifying Round game in 1997 on the only occasion the sides have met.
Manager Billy Heath was pleased with last Saturday’s result, “It was another fine performance and it was good to get back to winning ways after losing three games in succession. We certainly will not be underestimating barrow on Saturday.
Heath should have a full squad to choose from apart from Dean Lisles(ankle injury) and Mark Gray (groin injury). Nathan Jarman returns to the squad after completing a one match suspension.
NFU from: Adam Nicklin, Antoni Pecora, Paul Robson, Nathan Peat, Danny Hone, Gregg Anderson, Matt Wilson, Jonathan D’Laryea, Liam King, Russell Fry, Anthony Wilson, Nathan Jarman, Danny Clarke, Ben Hunter, Jamie Yates, Ryan Kendall, Sam Belcher
Ferriby’s home game against Leamington which was scheduled for Tuesday 19th November has been switched to Tuesday 10th December.
