FA TROPHY HOLDERS 2015 & NATIONAL LEAGUE NORTH PLAY-OFF CHAMPIONS 2016

NFU v AFC Fylde (Evo Prem)

North Ferriby United  v AFC Fylde
Evostik Northern Premier League Premier Division
Saturday 23 February 2013  KO 3.00 pm

League leaders Ferriby entertain ambitious AFC Fylde on Saturday. Fylde have stated that their ambition is to be in the Football League by 2022

Fylde are 12th in the table but have a large number of games in hand on the leading pack  so they are still hoping to reach a promotion play-off place.

The Villagers are now four points clear of second-placed Hednesford Town at the top of the table. FC United of Manchester have climbed to third place and are making a strong bid for automatic promotion.

Ferriby go in to this game on the back of a nine game unbeaten run. Manager Billy Heath will be looking to his team to extend this sequence to keep the pressure on Hednesford and the chasing pack.

Whilst all games are important at this stage of the season the next four league games could be crucial to Ferriby's final position. As well as playing Fylde, The Villagers have to travel to both FC United and Hednesford plus play relegation strugglers Stocksbridge at home. This period will be a test of Ferriby's ability and character.

The midweek win over Sheffield FC in the Doodson sport Cup earned Ferriby an away match at Blyth Spartans next Tuesday. The Sheffield was certainly entertaining with Ferriby winning 6-3. Eight of the goals came in a pulsating second -half. Record goal-scorer Gary Bradshaw scored his first four goal haul for the club.

Manager Billy Heath was pleased with the result but knows his side can perform better. "We allowed Sheffield too much space when they attacked and this created problems. However; I'm pleased with the result and it was good to see Gary score four for the first time."

Heath should have a full squad to choose from apart from long-term injured Dean Lisles.  Probable Ferriby squad: Adam Nicklin, Antoni Pecora, Paul Robson,  Steve Ridley, Steve Gardner, Gregg Anderson, Paul Foot, Mark Gray, Nathan Peat, Liam King, Russell Fry, Danny Clarke, Chris Bolder, Ryan Williams, Anthony Wilson, Ryan Kendall, Gary Bradshaw, Oliver Banks
