Ferriby began their defence of the Doodson Sport League Challenge Cup with a 6-3 win in an entertaining game against Sheffield FC. Striker Gary Bradshaw hit four goals for the first time for Ferriby in amazing second half.
Sheffield almost opened the scoring after five minutes' Steve Ridley cleared a dangerous cross for a corner. From the corner a close range header was saved by Antoni Pecora.
Ferriby responded immediately with the game's first goal. Anthony Wilson crossed from the right and Oliver Banks rose to head home from close range.
Play continued to flow from end-to-end with both teams playing some good ground football. Danny Clarke saw a deflected shot saved by Liam Flynn. Clarke was unlucky shortly after when his flicked header from a Russell Fry corner was headed off the line.
Sheffield broke quickly at every opportunity and went close through Warren Burrell and Shaquille McKenzie.
Clarke, twice, Bradshaw and Fry all went close as the game ebbed and flowed.
Ferriby deserved their half-time lead but it gave no inkling of what was to come.
If the first-half was entertaining, the second-half was amazing.
Sheffield shocked Ferriby with an eqyaliser from Nathan Forbes-Williams after 47 minutes who headed home Matt Roney's cross.
Ferriby's response was immediate and clinical. Bradshaw latched on to a through-ball and outpaced the defence before sliding the ball past Flynn.
Three minutes later Sheffield were level. Steve Woolley appeared to be off-side but with the flag staying dowb he ran on to fire a cross-shot past Pecora.
Once more, Ferriby replied immediately . Banks' shot was parried by Flynn and Bradshaw reacted quickly to hammer home the loose ball from close range.
Chris Bolder's close range shot on the turn after 60 minutes doubled Ferriby's lead but Sheffield bounced back.
mark Gray turned a low cross in to his own goal after 67 minutes to make the score 4-3.Shaquille Mckenzie had a great opportunity to equalise but fired wide when well-place.

Bradshaw complete the scoring in the 89th minute with a close-range flick following a low cross.
If the game was entertaining to the small crowd, it was perhaps less so to manager Billy Heath. He commented; "I'm pleased with the result and especially for Gary hitting four for the first time. However, we were a bit too open at times and this allowed Sheffield too much space."
