East Riding Senior Cup Second Round
North Ferriby United 6 Hornsea Town 1
Billy Heath gave starting debuts to midfielder Louis Kirk and striker Ruhandulca Ombeni. Louis Mobbs came in to the defence for a rare appearance.
Despite dominating the first half, Ferriby found themselves a goal down at half-time to a spirited Hornsea Town side.
Hornsea hassled and harried Ferriby from the start and chances were few and far between in the first twenty minutes.
For all Ferriby's pressure it was Hornsea who came closest to scoring. First, Ferriby keeper Antoni Pecora blocked Ryan Silvestri's shot with his legs. Mobbs then put in a great tackle as Silvestri was about to shoot.
Hornsea keeper Rich Dexter then turned Steve ridley's deflected free-kick for a corner.
Ferriby began to dominate the game and Ben Hunter saw his drive saved by Dexter. Ombeni was desperately unlucky to see his shot bounce back of the post and jack Muldoon fired wide. Hunter then saw Dexter save his 15 yard drive.
Ferriby were rocked after 41 minutes when a quick break by Hornsea saw Adam Yorke score from close range in what seemed an off-side position.
The second-half proved all one way and it was only a matter of time before Ferriby equalised. Louis Kirk's cross was headed from close range by Jack Muldoon after 59 minutes.
Muldoon and Hunter both went close before Mark Gray scrambled home Dean Lisle's free-kick to put Ferriby ahead after 69 minutes. Two minutes later ben Hunter fired home from 18 yards.
Muldoon scored his second in the 74th minute when he hammered home Louis Kirk's cross from close-range.
Six minutes later Chris Bolder made it five with a close range header from Hunter's cross.
Muldoon completed the scoring and his hat-trick five minutes from time with a superb shot in to the top corner from a free-kick.
Kirk had an impressive game in midfield and was involved in many of Ferriby's moves. Ombeni looked sharp up-front and was unlucky not to get on the score sheet.
Manager Billy Heath was pleased with the result and now turns his attentions to Saturday's top-of-the-table clash with Marine at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium.
