Pre-season Friendly
North Ferriby United 2 Whitby Town 0
Scorers: NFU Liam King 37; Anthony Wilson 90
Ferriby deserved their win in a competitive game. The Villagers probably should have won by a bigger margin.

Ferriby's passing and pace created problems throughout the half but Whitby defended stubbornly.
Nathan Jarman's shot was saved by keeper Shane Bland after Danny Hone's header had been blocked Matt Wilson then placed a header wide following another Yates' corner. Bland then beat Jarman in a race for a through-ball.
Jarman's stooping header from another Yates' corner was well-saved by Bland. Jarman thought he had scored after 30 minutes but his shot was kept out by a combination of a defender and a post.
King put Ferriby ahead after 37 minutes scoring from close range after a 5-man move.
Whitby's only real threats in the half were two Nathan Mulligan free-kicks that went wide.
The second-half was a more scrappy affair with neither side prepared to give an inch.
Ferriby again had most of the possession and went close to scoring a second goal on a number of occasions. Yates was again prominent in many of Ferriby's attacks with his passing and corner-kicks continuing to create chances.
Hone headed over from a corner and Jaran's low drive was held at the second attempt by Bland. The half continued with a string of near-misses for Feriby. Six or seven shots and headers flew just wide or over and Bland punched an inswinging corner off his goal-line.
Hone marshalled Ferriby's defence well when Whitby did attack.
Antoni Pecora made a fine diving save to prevent a Whitby equaliser after 89 minutes on one of the rare occasions that Whitby seriously threatened.
The clinching goal came in the final minute. Yates' corner-kick to the near post was met by Anthony Wilson who glanced a header past Shane Bland.
Ferriby manger Billy Heath said, " I'm pleased with the result. They (Whitby) made it hard for us in the middle. We were perhaps a bit flat today compared to our recent performances but we deserved the win."
