Evostik Northern Premier League Premier Division
Nantwich Town v North Ferriby United
Ferriby travel to Cheshire to play Nantwich Town in a rearranged Evostik Premier Division match on Saturday. Both teams are among a group of eight clubs within seven points of each other in mid-table.
The Villagers have put in some good performances at the Weaver stadium in recent seasons but have not always had the best of luck there. A change in fortunes will be very welcome on Saturday.
With the play-offs now out of reach, Ferriby will be looking to finish as high as possible and set-sown a marker for next season. Ferriby could still win silverware this swason. They have reached the semi-final of the Doodson Sport League Challenge Cup and will face one of Kendal Town, Rushall Olympic or Frickley Athletic.
Manager Billy Heath will be pleased that his team seems to have found its goal boots in the last two games.
Tuesday's match against Matlock was tough encounter which Ferriby deserved to win on the balance of play. They virtually dominated the whole of the second half. Ferriby were left a little frustrated after being denied what appeared to be two absolutely clear penalties for fouls of Wayne Brooksby.
Heath commented, "We had a lot of possession but we perhaps hit the ball long a little too early at times. We need to be a bit more patient more on the ball to create chances."
Heath should have a full squad to choose from with the exception of long-term injury Ben Morley. The only doubts are keeper Adam Nicklin and skipper Paul Foot. Heath is also hoping to have signed a new player by Saturday to reinforce the squad following a number of recent departures.
Probable Ferriby Squad: Steve Wilson, Adam Nicklin, Steve Gardner, Dominic Riordan, Nathan Peat, Paul Foot, James Williams, Kevin Larvin, Gregg Anderson, , Chris Bolder, Russell Fry, Wayne Brooksby, Gary Bradshaw, Lee Morris,Timothy Taylor, Danny Clarke, Sam Belcher, Luke Thompson, Rob Moy
