Marine v North Ferriby United
Evostik Northern Premier League Premier Division
Saturday 20th April 2013 KO 15.00 pm
Leaders Ferriby travel to Marine for their final away league match of the season. They will be looking for all three points to be certain of keeping their top-of-the table spot. Ferriby still lead on goal difference from Hednesford. A win will also guarantee a top two spot.
Ferriby are unbeaten in 13 games and have lost only one in 22. Tuesday's win at Matlock set a new club record of 15 away wins in a season.
In theory, Marine could still gain a play-off spot but in reality they are out of the race. However the Crosby side will provide a stern test for Ferriby. The Arriva Stadium is never an easy place to get a result.
Ferriby put in a very good all-round team performance in Tuesday's 2-0 win at Matlock. They dominated the game and played controlled and patient football in the belief that goals would eventually come. Two second-half strikes from Liam King, against his former club, and Ryan Kendall sealed victory.
Ferriby manager Billy Heath commented, "We controlled the game against aside who have had some good results in recent weeks. We are still in the driving seat. As I've said before,, we will concentrate on our own games and performances and not worry about what the others are doing."
The title race now seems a two-way fight between Ferriby and Hednesford Town and both teams are now certain to finish in a play-off spot at the very least. FC United of Manchester, AFC Fylde, Rushall Olympic and Witton Albion, are now the main candidates for the remaining play-off spots with Chorley and Buxton as outside bets.
Heath should have a full squad to select from on Wednesday.
Possible Ferriby squad: Adam Nicklin, Paul Robson, Nathan Peat, Liam King, Gregg Anderson, Paul Foot, Mark Gray, Russell Fry, Danny Clarke, Chris Bolder, Ryan Williams, Anthony Wilson, Ryan Kendall, Gary Bradshaw, Steve Ridley, Rob Youhill, Jason Stokes, Antoni Pecora
