FA TROPHY HOLDERS 2015 & NATIONAL LEAGUE NORTH PLAY-OFF CHAMPIONS 2016

Hyde FC v NFU (VCN)

Vanarama Conference North
Hyde FC  v North Ferriby United
Saturday 6 December 2014 ; KO 3.00 pm

Ferriby return to league action when they travel to Hyde on Saturday. The Villagers go in to the game on the back of a 7-game unbeaten league run which has seen them gain three wins and four draws.

The Villagers are currently 10th in the Vanarama Conference North whilst Hyde are in desperate trouble at the foot of the table.

Hyde have won only one of their league games and are looking destined for relegation as they have played more games than the teams above them. They are currently 10 points behind the fourth from bottom side.

It is perhaps no surprise that they have the worst defensive record in the division but they are not amongst the lowest scorers.

Hyde had a morale-boosting FA Trophy win at Tamworth last weekend but lost 3-0 at home to Worcester in a league game on Monday.

Last Saturday’s  FA Trophy win over Mickleover Sports showed The Villagers at their clinical best in front of goal.

Ferriby manager Billy Heath was delighted after the game,” It was a good free-flowing performance. I was delighted with the way the players responded after conceding goals. We provided a great deal of entertainment.”

Looking towards Saturday’s game Heath commented, “Hyde are obviously struggling but they will be playing for pride and they will still feel that there are enough games left to climb away from the bottom.

“We have to focus on our own game. We need to climb the table and aim for a play-off spot. It is tight in the top-half of the table and a set of good results will see us climb-up.”

Danny Emerton is still injured but Danny Hone returns from suspension. Emerton apart, Heath should have a full squad to choose from.

NFU’s probable squad : Adam Nicklin, Tom Nicholson, Josh Wilde, Grant Black, Nathan Peat, Matt Wilson, Danny Hone, Mark Gray, Gregg Anderson, Adam Bolder, Liam King, Jon D’Laryea, Russell Fry,  Nathan Jarman, Tom Denton, Ryan Kendall, Jason St Juste, Jamie Yates

Ferriby will play Boston United at home on Saturday 13 December in the FA Trophy First Round.
