FA TROPHY HOLDERS 2015 & NATIONAL LEAGUE NORTH PLAY-OFF CHAMPIONS 2016

Hednesford Town v NFU (Evo Prem)

Evostik Northern Premier League Premier Division
Hednesford Town v North Ferriby United

Saturday 16 March 2013 KO 3.00 pm

Ferriby have a vital match at second-placed Hednesford Town on Saturday The result will not make or break either side's title chances but may well provide a pointer as to who may take the automatic promotion spot.

The title and promotion race is difficult to predict with teams having played different numbers of matches. FC United of Manchester and AFC Fylde will not have given up hope of taking the title but  their fixture backlog may well affect their chances.

Ferriby lost the reverse fixture against Hednesford in controversial circumstances and this will add to the side's motivation on Saturday. The Villagers seem to be getting back to their best form at a crucial stage of the season and will be looking for at least a point at Hednesford.

Ferriby's away form has been impressive this season and they have won 12 of their 16 games. Their pace and movement regularly causes problems for home sides who have to play a more open game than they do at the Rapid Solicitors' Stadium.

Ferriby manager Billy Heath commented, "It is a big game on Saturday, but they are all big games from now to the end of the season. We need to be confident and approach the game in a positive manner and go there looking for a win. We have got our edge back recently and we need to maintain this."

Whatever the outcome on Saturday, the season will still present more twists and turns before it finishes at the end of April. It is going to be a test of nerve, skill and, no doubt, some good luck before the promotion battle is decided.

Ferriby's only injury doubt is midfielder Liam King who has played a pivotal part in their success this season. He suffered a hip injury in an accidental collision last Saturday and is not likely to have recovered sufficiently enough to play.

Possible Ferriby squad: Adam Nicklin; Gregg Anderson, Steve Gardner, Paul Robson, Paul Foot, Mark Gray, Nathan Peat, Liam King, Russell Fry, Danny Clarke, Chris Bolder, Ryan Williams, Anthony Wilson, Ryan Kendall, Gary Bradshaw, Steve Ridley, Oliver Banks, Antoni Pecora

Ferriby Striker Ryan Kendall has been nominated for The Northern Premier League 'Supporters Player of the Year'. Fans and followers of Ferriby can vote for Ryan at http://sgiz.mobi/s3/NPL-Fans-Player-of-the-Season
