Colwyn Bay v North Ferriby United
Saturday 5 October
Kick-off 3.00 pm
North Ferriby United return to Skrill North action on Saturday when they travel to North Wales to take-on Colwyn Bay.
Ferriby are currently fourth in the Skrill North table. Colwyn Bay will provide a tough test but Billy Heath’s team will not be short of confidence.
The Villagers go in to the game on the back of a 4-1 FA Cup win at Buxton last Saturday. Ferriby’s passing game was not at his best last Saturday but clinical finishing and good work in defence and midfield gave the side a deserved victory and a home tie against Runcorn Linnets on 12th October.
Colwyn are 13th in the table with two wins and four draws from their nine league games. Both their league wins have been away from home but they did beat Harrogate Town at home in the FA Cup last Saturday. They have scored 10 league goals and conceded 14.
Most of Colwyn’s games have been against clubs in the lower half of the table. Conversely, six of Ferriby’s games have been against the other top seven clubs. Even so, Villagers’ Manager Billy Heath knows his side will need to be close to their best if they are to gain anything from Colwyn.
Heath commented, “I was pleased with the result at Buxton but we now have to focus on two important league fixtures. We’ve made a good start to the season and we need to maintain it.”
With the exception of Danny Hone, who is recovering from an ankle ligament injury, Heath should have a full squad to choose from. Central defender Mark Gray has re-joined the club following a short spell at Frickley Athletic.
NFU from: Adam Nicklin, Antoni Pecora, Dean Lisles, Paul Robson, Nathan Peat, Gregg Anderson, Matt Wilson, Jonathan D’Laryea, Liam King, Russell Fry, Danny Clarke, Ben Hunter, Jamie Yates, Ryan Kendall, Nathan Jarman, Anthony Wilson Sam Belcher, Louis Bruce, Mark Gray
This is the first of two long trips in four days as Ferriby travel to Ellesmere Port to play Vauxhall Motors on Tuesday.
