Buxton v North Ferriby United
Evostik Northern Premier League Premier Division
Saturday 15 December 2012 KO 3.00 pm
League leaders Ferriby travel to mid-table Buxton on Saturday. Ferriby go in to this game with eight successive away league wins behind them. The clubs have already met twice this season. Buxton gained a fortunate draw in the league match when they equalised with the final kick of the game. Ferriby never really got going when they met in the FA Trophy and lost 2-1.
Ferriby were disappointed with last Saturday's result against Rushalll when they let a two-goal lead slip and dropped two points. However they played well and created chances.
As Manager Billy Heath commented, "Of course I'm disappointed to draw after being two up. We had chances to kill them off before they scored and we paid the price."
Ferriby's lead is now down to a single point but have a vastly superior goal difference to the chasing pack. Saturday's game marks the start of the second half of the league season and it goes without saying that Heath will be looking for his team to maintain the form they have shown so far.
After a long absence through injury, Gary Bradshaw came on a s substitute against Rushall. Unfortunately his arms were badly lacerated when he was attacked by a dog last Saturday night and he is not going to be able to play for two to three weeks. Steve Gardner remains a long-term injury absentee. probably a week and two weeks, respectively, from returning to the squad. Paul Foot should remain in the squad following his return to the bench against Hednesford. Nathan Peat returns to the squad following a one game suspension. A Striker Anthony Wilson sits out due to one-match suspension.
Ferriby squad: Adam Nicklin, Antoni Pecora, Steve Ridley, Paul Foot, Gregg Anderson, , Dean Lisles, Mark Gray, Nathan Peat, Liam King, Russell Fry, Danny Clarke, Chris Bolder, Ryan Williams, Jack Muldoon, Ryan Kendall, Ben Hunter
