Brigg Town 6 NFU 1
Attendance 91

Brigg Town were always going to be a test for Ferriby’s Academy side and so it proved.

Ferriby started well but it was Brigg who took the lead after 15 minutes. A corner from the right was met at the far post by George Merrick who planted a firm header into The Villagers’ goal. That was to be the only goal of a fairly even and entertaining first-half. Brigg always looked the more threatening but Ferriby’s defence was solid with Dale Dennett and Tom Bruce performing well in the centre,

Brigg had by far the better of the second-half. Although they had a lot of young and new players in the side, they did have somw players with NCEL experience and this startd to prove the difference.

Jack Tierney won the ball in midfield and fired home a 25-yard shot after 57 minutes to double The Zebras’ lead. Two minutes later the game was really decided when Josh Goodman rounded Ferriby keeper Liam Houston to score the third.

A quick break after 64 minutes saw Goodman score his second goal of the evenng. Another break after 72 minutes saw Tierbey also bag his second.
Ferriby pulled a goal back after 77 minutes through Callum before Charlie Dolling imeediately score Brigg’s sixth and final goal.
