Blyth Spartans v North Ferriby United
Doodson Sport League Challenge Cup 4th Round
Tuesday 26 February 2013 KO 7.45 pm
Ferriby continue their defence of te Doodson Sport League Cup when they travel to Premier division rivals Blyth Spartans on Tuesday.
Manager Billy Heath will be taking a strong team up to Blyth. He was disappointed with his side's performance in Saturday's home defeat against AFC Fylde and will be looking for a much better performance at Blyth.
The league cup is not always viewed as a priority by clubs but Heath wants to retain the trophy that Ferriby won for the first time last season. As he says, "It would be good to get in to the habit of regularly winning trophies."
Saturday's game against AFC Fylde was a bitter disappointment. Heath commented, "It was a poor quality game and both sides cancelled-out each other. It was always likely that one goal would decide it and, unfortunately for us, poor defensive work cost us a goal."
Both Ferriby and Fylde struggled to find any sort of cohesion as passes constantly went astray. Despite the defeat, Ferriby's players believe that they will still gain promotion. The season will certainly have many more twists and turns before it finishes.
Danny Clarke may not have recovered from a foot injury which saw him miss-out on Saturday but, otherwise, Heath should have a full squad to choose from.
Probable Ferriby squad: Adam Nicklin, Antoni Pecora, Paul Robson, Steve Ridley, Steve Gardner, Gregg Anderson, Paul Foot, Mark Gray, Nathan Peat, Liam King, Russell Fry, Danny Clarke, Chris Bolder, Ryan Williams, Anthony Wilson, Ryan Kendall, Gary Bradshaw, Oliver Banks
