AFC Fylde v North Ferriby United
Evostik Northern Premier League Premier Division
Saturday 25 August. KO 3.00 pm
North Ferriby United travel to AFC Fylde for their first ever fixture against the Premier Division newcomers
Ferriby Manager Billy Heath was disappointed with Ferriby's two first results. Ferriby dominated the first half in both games against Buxton and Worksop and should have been well-ahead at half-time in each game. Sub-standard second-half performances left Ferriby paying the price as late goals in both games cost them points.
Heath will be looking for a more consistent Fylde. "It will be a difficult much. They have come up on the crest of a wave and they will want to build on that. Other managers I have talked to have said that Fylde is a hard place to go to and get a result. Like us. They've started with a draw and a defeat."
Ferriby were furious with Worksop's winning goal on Wednesday. Scorer Young was at least five yards off-side as he was allowed to chase a through-ball to score. Even those connected with Worksop could not understand why the goal was allowed. However, as Heath said, "We shouldn't have been in the position where one poor decision costs us points. We had chances to have killed-off Worksop in the first half."
Once Ferriby put some consistency into their game they should start winning. They have played good football in both games so far but need to find the killer punch and keep to their game plan for 90 minutes.
